A large Staffordshire dated pearlware figure of Milton
probably Enoch Wood, wearing yellow coat and iron-red breeches, a purple-lined yellow cape over his left shoulder and around his waist, modelled standing holding a scroll in his left hand, his left arm resting on a pile of books above a cylindrical plinth, on rectangular marbled base, incised to the underside 1816/W. Cook, 1816 (left hand restored, some small chips to the base and light fritting) -- 48cm. high
