A FINE AND RARE CELADON GLASS DOUBLE-GOURD VASE

The vase is supported on a short foot ring, the globular lower body separated from the smaller upper body by a narrow waist rising to a flared mouthrim, the metal of opaque soft apple-green tone suffused with a yellowish hue

Lot Essay

This rare glass vase is most certainly inspired by celadon-glazed double-gourd porcelain vases of the period, such as the Qianlong-marked example from the Jingguantang collection sold in these Rooms, 3 November 1996, lot 571.
