Niccolo da Uzzano (b 1359, d 1431) was a patrician who rose to prominence in Florence alongside Rainaldo degli Albizzi. Their oligarchy was attacked by the popolo minuto and the ascendant Giovanni di Averardo de' Medici. Donatello's original in terracotta has been seen as the earliest true portrait bust of the Renaissance.
