Lot Essay

The sitter married Johan Bernard de la Faille (1672-1729) in 1701. She was the daughter of Pieter Reiniersz. van Heemskerck and Elisabeth Pruys van Oswaert. For their portraits and their biographies, see lots 43 and 44 sold in these rooms 9 May 2000.
