Lot Essay

One of the earliest Rolex chronographs, this model represents a transition from the pocket watch to the wrist watch as it still retains many pocket watch style features, simple round case with added lugs, enamel dial, single button operating through the winder and a hinged back. There were so few of these early Rolex chronograph watches that they are almost custom made with small differences between each example.
