These vases are an interpretation of the Great vase from the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. It is part of a group known as 'The Alhambra Vases', from the Nasrid period, dating from the late 13th/early 14th Century. These vases are decorated with gold on a white ground (see Al-Andalus, The Art of Islamic Spain, Exhibition Catalogue, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1992, p. 356.)
