A large Meissen two-handled pot-pourri vase, cover and stand
Second half 19th Century
The pierced domed cover with high bouquet finials, above the pear-shaped body painted with a landscape with two gentlemen and a lady, the reverse with a bouquet, within scroll-moulded cartouches elaborately encrusted with flowers, fruits, insects and to the left-hand side of the front cartouche with a scantily-draped putto, the foliate-moulded handles similarly encrusted, above a scroll moulded spreading foot applied with a scantily dressed boy beside a basket of flowers, on shaped square base painted with bouquets and a pastoral scene, applied with flowers at the angles, terminating in scroll feet, the underside with underglazed Meissen blue crossed swords mark
