A French silvered bronze, ormolu and pietra dura-mounted clock
Last quarter 19th Century
Surmounted by a figure of Sapho, cast after the model by Jean-Jacques Pradier, inscribed J. PRADIER 1848 and with foundry stamp for Victor Paillard, on a square clock, the front with circular dial, with twin-train movement, the sides each with a pietra dura panel depicting a bunch of cherries, the corners each mounted with one standing and two seated putti supporting foliate festoons, on scrolled foliate-cast feet
26 in. (66 cm.) high, overall; 10¾ in. (27.3 cm.) square at base
