Lot Essay

The theatre was probably cut-out and mounted by Mr. Pollock or one of his daughters circa 1900. Many of the plays are still in their original wrappings. The collection was probably bought in the late 1930s or 1940s, although some pieces are from the 1950s. Mrs. Fawdry purchased Pollock's in 1955/56.
