with brown sleeping 'flirty' eyes, blonde curly mohair wig and jointed composition body with white cotton frock with pink ribbon trim, underwear and shoes, a mauve frock with bonnet, a white cotton frock with pink ribbon trim, a floral printed oriental style trouser suit, a knitted jacket, night dress and various shoes --17in. (43cm.) high

Lot Essay

This doll belonged to a Dutch family living in Shanghai, the daughter was given the doll in the 1930s and later spent some time in a prisoner of war camp when the Japanese interned foreign families during the 2nd World War. The doll always stayed by her side.
