A late 19th Century nautical themed office clock
the 3¼in. white enamel dial with Roman numerals from I-XII, black steel hands and single key wind above 'VI' to single spring platform lever escapement with pendulum and pull-off back cover with suspension loop over, the dial set within an ornate cast iron armorial housing with Latin inscription HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE around dial and DIEU ET MON DROIT in a banner set over two dolphins at the base above the anchor flukes, re-finished in gilt -- 12¾in. (32.5cm.) high
