A LOUIS XVI THREE-COLOUR GOLD SNUFF-BOX
by Charles Ouizille (fl. 1771-1830), marked, Paris, 1779/1780, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache, struck with inventory number 575
Oval box, the panels on cover, base and four sides engine-turned with small waves forming a peaked pattern, the four side dividers chased as columns hung with laurel festoons, the frosted gold borders stamped with leaves, flowers and and roses
