Lot Essay

Ernest Comte de Talleyrand-Périgord was a grandson of Augustin de Talleyrand-Périgord, the youngest brother of the famous statesman Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord. He married Suzanne Le Pelletier de Mortefontaine in 1830. For a miniature of his daughter Marguerite, future Princesse de Ligne, see lot 153.
