Lot Essay

Etienne-Lucien Blerzy, presumably a relative of the late 18th century gold box maker Joseph-Etienne Blerzy, entered his mark in 1801/2 as a jeweller. He ceased working in 1808 when his widow entered her own mark. For another vinaigrette by this maker, see lot 282.
