Details
A fine and well proportioned Gauge 1 spirit-fired steam model of the LNER 4-6-2 A4 streamlined locomotive 'Mallard' and eight-wheel four-axle rigid tender No. 4468
built by Aster for Fulgurex, label stamped Fulgurex-Aster 143 1984, internally fired boiler with three-wick spirit lamp, twin safety valves, sight glass, pressure gauge, blower and regulator, fitted with three double-acting cylinders, Walschaert's valve gear, screw reverse from cab, middle cylinder with slip eccentric, sprung chassis with hinged coupling rods, other details include brake gear and front access to lubricator, the tender fitted with fuel and water tanks and hand pump, finished in LNER garter blue with cherry red wheels -- 27½in. (70cm.) long, in wooden carrying case.
