A fine Japanese ivory brise fan decorated in Hiramaki and Takamaki with two ladies and a gentleman with raised ivory faces, in a hilly landscape, with a rock with an inscription , the verso lacquered with a peacock perched amongst laburnum, the upper guardsticks decorated in Shibayama work with a vulture amongst blossom and with birds and daisies, the lower guardstick with a shibayama work butterfly and wisteria, the ogime with shibayama work grasshoper and flowers - 9.5in. (24cm.), late 19th century
