Jean-Baptiste Maire is recorded in P. Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe Siècle, Paris, 1987, p.455.
Renowned for his medallions of French celebrities of the Franche-Compté as well as sculptures in marble and stone, the musée d'Avignon posseses a small medallion depicting Napoleon and dated 1814.
