Blue interlaced L's mark, date letters ff for 1783, painter's mark for Mme. Bouillat, unidentified painter's mark of a crown, various incised marks
The serpentine bombé oval with two quatrefoil basins, the exterior with cornflower vines entwined around a puce filet and centering a similar blue filet entwined at each end and at the center of each side with a short berried laurel garland, gilt dentil rim, 5 1/8in. (13.1cm.) long; together with a Sèvres assembled part toilette service, 1781-1788, interlaced L's mark to each piece, date letters dd for 1781 to the tray and one pot, date letters LL for 1783 to the two cylindrical pots, painter's marks for Mme. Taillandier, Mme. Gèrard and Mme. Bunel, gilder's mark for Prévost, painted with scattered cornflowers beneath gilt dentil rims, comprising a footed rectangular tray, two cylindrical pommade pots, one with a cover; and two graduated hemispheric pommade pots and covers with gilt apple finials, 7in. Lot Essay

Geneviéve-Louis Bouillat, daughter of the noted flower painter Louis-Jean Thévenet, is recorded at Sèvres as a flower painter 1776-1798. Her husband Edmé-François also used a Y as his mark.

Marie-Jeanne Barbe Bunel is recorded at Sèvres as a flower painter 1777-1816

Geneviève Taillandier, wife of Vincent Taillandier, a noted flower painter and the designor of the ground pattern which bears his name, is recorded at Sevres as a flower painter 1774-1798.

Marie-Anne Gérard is recorded at Sèvres as a flower-painter and gilder 1775-1802

Henri-Martin Prévost is recoded at Sèvres as a gilder 1757-1797
