A Kreussen stoneware planets pewter-mounted jug
Mid 17th century, the cover with contemporary pewter marks
(Planetenbirnkrug) the brown glazed baluster body enamelled in colours with various friezes of ornamental motifs, with a frontal medallion depicting the Holy Lamb with a cross and a pennant, further with a frieze of various figures in relief depicting the planets, inscribed: soll, venus, mercuri, luna, saturnus, iupiter, mars, the domed cover embossed with flowers, connected with a fan thumbpiece to the handle, the handle with a grotesque mask (the handle repaired and chips to the base)
