A GEORGE II EBONIZED AND MAHOGANY TRIPOD TABLE
The base mid-18th century, the top of a later date
The tilting canted square top with solid hardwood center surrounded by a pierced scrolling acanthus and vine border with shells to each side and rocaille clasps to each canted corner surrounded by a molded edge, above a ring-turned spreading columnar stem carved with berried laurel vines on a spiral-reeded urn-base, the cabriole legs each headed with a rocaille acanthus cabuchon and terminating in acanthus-wrapped pad feet
28½in. (72cm.) high, 32in. (81.5cm.) wide, 31½in. (80cm.) deep
