A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF A WOMAN
Circa 1st Century A.D.
Perhaps a goddess, crowned with a twisted cloth surmounted by a tapering conical headdress draped with a beaded chain and ornamented with a feather at the front, with her head turned slightly to the right, her center-parted hair curling above her ears and pulled back below her headdress, the oval face with thickly-lidded almond-shaped eyes, her lips curved into a slight smile
