The blue resin pen with 18k gold filigree overlay design, enhanced by a ruby and diamond crown, in tribute of George IV's reign, with a gold nib engraved with a crown, 1995, 14.2 cm., with Swiss assay marks, in its original Montblanc fitted case

Lot Essay

This pen was created in 1995 to celebrate King George IV - the Prince Regent. Although mostly known for his flamboyant lifestyle, he was nevertheless a great patron of the arts. Through his neverending devotion to art and culture the Regency Period has become a synonym for elegance and refinement of style.
