Lot Essay

A Windsor armchair with very similar detail to the legs, stretchers and arm supports was sold at Vost's, 24th February 1999 lot 301. That particular chair bore the label of Edwards & Roberts, Upholstery Warehouse, Wardour Street, London. It may well be that this small group of distinctive quality mahogany Windsor chairs were made by the firm of Edwards and Roberts.
