Carved as a bearded sage seated below a branch suspending a double gourd in the interior of the hollowed log which forms his vessel, accompanied by a vase containing ruyi-heads and an attendant with a paddle, carved on the underside with naturalistic wood grain, the stone of an even pale celadon tone with minute russet inclusions
