As the title indicates, the Dialogo de Republica contrasts Nature, seen as constant and well-regulated, with fickle Fortune. Alberti cast himself as the speaker Teogenio, a man modest and frugal, devoted to the study of the marvels of nature. Adams A-495; Cicognara 385.
