A RARE .45 COLT SHERIFF'S MODEL SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER, NO. 142318 FOR 1891
Sighted barrel marked with two-line Colt address, early-type "black-powder" frame with cylinder pin retaining screw, two-line patent dates, ivory grips with relief carved Steer Head motif
3½ inch (8.8 cm.) barrel
Grey-brown patina overall showing some cleaning, grip-locating pin underneath grips has been ground smooth
Colt Factory letter confirms configuration and notes that this revolver was shipped to Dunlay & Geisler, Houston, Texas, October 2, 1891.
