The modified Colt revolver, with shortened barrel, bobbed hammer, cut-away trigger guard (in the Fitz-Gerald manner), heavy nickel plating, finger-groove yellow phenolic grips
2 3/8 inch (6.1cm.) barrel
Modifications non-factory
Accompanied by three letters attesting to this revolvers recovery on May 6th, 1930 from the car of Clyde Barrow by Navarro County, Texas, Sherriff Rufus Pevehouse.
The first, an affidavit from The State of Texas, Navarro Country, signed on 12 Sept. 1969 by Rufus Pevehouse notes selling this revolver to Gaines de Graffenried for $1, and that this revolver had been in the possession of Pevehouse since the recovery in 1930.
On his own letter-head, Pevehouse further attests that this revolver was found in a car driven by Clyde Barrow on May 6, 1930.
Lastly, a signed letter from Texas Ranger Bill Gunn, documents the sale of this revolver to Gaines de Graffenried by Sheriff Pevehouse.
Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter, dated March 15th 2001, noting that this revolver was shipped to Stauffer Eshleman & Company of New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 27, 1924.

Date listed on signed letters noting this revolver's recovery from Clyde Barrow's car on May 6, 1930, conflicts with his arrest records. Clyde Barrow escaped from McClennan County Jail, Waco, Texas on March 11, 1930 and was re-captured March 18, 1930.
