Small quarto, frontis, and five portraits, two double-page plates depicting Emperor Maximilian, Miramar, General Salas, the Archbishop of Mexico, Empress Carlota, and others. Royal blue felt boards, with watered-silk papers. Orizaba, J. Bernardo Aburto, 1864, first edition, together with a framed engraving by Goupil et Cie, after the original painting Last Moments of Maximilian, Emperor of Mexico., by Jean-Paul Laurens, 1882.
The book was amoungst the belongings of Emperor Maximilian which came into the possession of Senora Degalado. (2)
