A large Sèvres style dark-blue-ground gilt-metal-mounted oval bowl
painted with the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his Empress Joséphine seated in state, courtiers in attendance, within a shaped rectangular panel enriched in raised gilt wreath ornament, flanked by raised gilt scrolling flowers and foliage, signed, the reverse with a garden landscape within a similar panel, the interior gilt with eagles, the rim applied with an ornate moulded band, with scrolling birdhead handles, the richly gilt flared foot on a square section stand, circa 1880 (some patches of flacking to the ground and rubbing to the gilding) -- 55cm. wide
