Lot Essay

Thomas Cubitt (1788-1855) was a speculative builder who built a large area of London centred around Belgrave Square, Pimlico and Bloomsbury. He was also responsible for a large development in Brighton, called Kemp Town, and Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
