Schrader. Mr. Schrader co-founded Colgin-Schrader Cellars in the early 1990's and more recently founded Schrader Cellars. This sale includes the first-ever offering of Schrader Cellar wines to the market.

Marcassin Pinot Noir--Vintage 1995
Sonoma Valley
"The 1995 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard is the debut vintage for this wine. It possesses one of the most enthralling and exquisite Burgundian-like Pinot noses I have ever smelled in a young American Pinot Noir. The color is a healthy medium dark ruby, and the sweet nose of jammy red and black fruits, truffles, smoked duck, and earth reminded this taster of a grand cru from Flagey-Echèzeaux or Vosne-Romanée. The wine reveals a delicacy and sweetness on the palate, without the weight one expects from intense aromas and flavors. A remarkably complex wine, it will be a full-bodied, perfumed style of Pinot Noir that should drink well during its first 5 - 7 years of life." Robert Parker, Wine Advocate Issue 108, 12/20/96
Only one barrel of this wine was produced, and the wine was never released commercially.
