Khmer, Angkor period, Bayon style, 12th/13th Century
Crisply cast with two Garudas surmounted by a bud-shaped finial encircled by further images of Garuda with clasped hands, the hook issuing from an elephant head, the arched trunk in the form of a stylized crocodile holding a further miniature elephant forming the tip, with finely incised detail and richly gilt overall
