A theatrical robe of yellow satin for a warrior
richly embroidered in couched gilt thread and silks with a dragon amongst cloud bands, the shoulders, chest and skirts densely worked with gilt scale-effect panels, the yellow ground between finely embroidered in silks with peonies amongst elegant scrolling foliage, trimmed with a scalloped edge worked with stylised archaic dragons, applied with heavy glass and metal amulets and with blue embroidered lion heads, circa 1800, (wear, glass plaques applied to later satin bands, appliqué lion heads added later)
