A gilt-metal reliquary, probably Italian, 17th century
with associated elements, the domed pierced canopy supported by Corinthian-styled columns, surmounted by a shepherd, dog and lamb, beneath the canopy, two gilt-metal figures flank a suspended, carved-relief, mother-of-pearl medallion, inscribed IMMACOLATA CONCEZIONE, the plinth with a conforming pierced foliate frieze, on an ebonised base -- 18in. (45.7cm.) high
