A Meissen gold-mounted cartouche shaped snuff-box
Circa 1740, contemporary mounts
The base painted with quayside scenes with figures at discussion within purple lustre and gilt scroll quatrefoil cartouches, the underside with a similar scene in purpurmalerei including two camels, the interior richly gilt, the shallow domed cover with Mezzetin playing his guitar to Columbine with two figures behind them in an extensive wooded landscape within a gilt quatrefoil cartouche on a gilt diaper ground, the interior with a lover and his companion in a romantic embrace before a tree with a gazebo in the distance (some wear to gilding to exterior of cover and wear to enamels to edge of underside of base, the interior with some minor scratching to gilding)
