A Paris (la Courtille) English decorated part dessert-service
Circa 1800, the oval dishes with blue crossed lines mark, each piece with purple AMM monogram to the reverse
Variously decorated and with elaborate gilt borders of pendant foliage, anthemion, scrolling foliage and husks, comprising:

Two oval dishes, one with a silhouette sacrifice subject, the other with putti astronomers among clouds
Two shaped square dishes, one with a silhouette of a woman with two children, the other with a goldfinch among thistle
Three lobed circular dishes, one with a silhouette of The Three Graces, another with a green parakeet (rim chip), the third with butterflies, a beetle and insects
Four large plates, one with moths and insects among vine (rim repaired), another with six putti (cracked and chipped), another with classical figures in silhouette (extensively rivetted) and another with two gladiators (rim repaired)
And a small Coalport plate with the same scene of the gladiators in sepia
