The present picture, and the following lot may be compared with the slightly smaller (60½ x 41¼ in.) pair of Rustics at a quack doctor's booth and Rustics outside a country inn, signed by the artist, sold, Sotheby's, London, 12 December 1984 (£9,900), or with the Village Kermesse, also signed, sold in these Rooms, 10 December 1993, lot 234 (£15,0000).
