of Wheildon type, the border moulded with thistles upon an ozier-moulded ground below C-scrolls, coloured with dark-grey, blue yellow and green glazes, circa 1770 (tiny chip to rim and some grazing to the glaze) -- 24.5cm. diam.; and a smaller plate, coloured with brown, green and blue glazes, below a shaped rim (small rim chips and some scratches to the glaze) -- 18.5cm. wideSee illustration (2)
