The bolstered treble-grip action-body with side-clips, bolted automatic safety, best bouquet and scroll engraving, highly-figured stock with pistolgrip, engraved pistolgrip-cap, cheek-piece and engraved butt-plate, the Whitworth-steel chopper-lump barrels with matt sight-rib and open-sights

The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in 1895. Very few were built by Purdey's in its original .577/.500 calibre and it is likely that the present example is one of the first Purdey double rifles to have been built with a bolstered action.
