Lot Essay

The maker's name is very indistinct, but the word Clementi can be made out, and the full name may be Clementi, Collard & Co
The barrel and the key-frame are longer than necessary for 21 keys; indeed, the keyframe has two redundant keys wired up, and slots for two more, at the right hand end, with a corresponding blank area on the barrels. A receipt from a firm of organ builders (not specifying the work done) is preserved inside, dated 1953; a further overhaul is now due.
