A RARE EARLY MING BLUE AND WHITE ANHUA-DECORATED CONICAL BOWL
ENCIRCLED XUANDE SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD


Painted to the exterior in characteristic dark blue tone with a chrysanthemum scroll comprising six flower-heads on a leafy stem with six smaller blooms issuing from secondary stems above a band of overlapping upright petals, all between single line borders at the rim and foot, the interior with a finely detailed peony scroll in anhua (invisible decoration) between a pair of double lines, the central medallion comprising a six-petal flower-head--8 1/8in. (20.5cm.) diam.
