QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD

The vertical sides decorated with a dense frieze of eight cranes in flight between ruyi-shaped clouds, the flat base with a forty character poem in gilt seal script followed by the date Qianlong guichou qinghe corresponding to early summer 1793, and two seals in archaic script, the gilt interior with the reign mark in relief within a square (slight wear)--4in. (10cm.) diam.
