QIANLONG SEAL MARK IN IRON-RED AND OF THE PERIOD

Of quatrefoil section, the flat cover crisply moulded with eight ripe peaches growing on four detached leafy branches, the sides of both the cover and box with four gilt panels simulating woven gold threads each framed by carved key-fret borders, covered overall in an opaque even turquoise glaze--5 1/8in. Lot Essay

It appears that this porcelain box was modeled after woven and painted lacquered boxes of the late Ming period, in the tradition made popular during the Qianlong period of copying wares of differing materials into porcelain
