The finely carved figure in comtemplation, seated in a relaxed pose wearing loose fitting robes with a hood, atop a crouching mythical beast with head turned sharply to one side and bulging eyes inset with semi-precious hardstones as are the incised and gilt helms, the stone of greyish tone with cream coloured inclusions, traces of pigment remaining to the surface--3in. (7.5cm.) high
