Norman Townsend wrote in 1991 "To my knowledge the pair of one cent dark blue stamps is genuine...They were used primarily in a section of southwestern Kiangsi (Jiangxi) Province...Even though one stamp is damaged by insect or other vermin, the item has significant philatelic value and would be highly sought after by collectors of the forerunner period of P.R.C...."
