Lot Essay
Harry Stinton was employed at the Worcester factory as a painter from 1896-1968. Along with his brother James, he specialized in landscapes of Highland cattle such as that found on the present vase and cover. According to Henry Sandon, a particular feature of Stinton cattle scenes is the fact that the beasts' hooves are always hidden in long grass.
