A CONTEMPORARY KARATSU STYLE CUP, 20TH CENTURY, KOYAMA FUJIO (1900-1975), the deep, circular cup on a ring foot covered in a thick glaze of greenish-grey flecked with brown and splashed with white, the area above the foot unglazed, in wood box inscribed Karatsu sakazuki muji (Karatsu ware cup, no design), and on the underside of the lid Koyama and dated Showa 40 (1965)--3½ in. diam.
