A BAMBOO AND SOFTWOOD LONG TABLE, TIAOAN
18TH/19TH CENTURY

The long rectangular lacquered top formed of two separate softwood planks with everted 'bird's tail' ends and supported on a bamboo armature comprising two rectangular box-frames, each with four legs joined by a plain latticework trellis on one side and a series of struts connecting the front and back, the base joined by two leg-encircling stretchers, the wide front apron under the top consisting of three diagonal-lattice-patterned fretwork panels
