TWO JADEITE VESSELS

The first an apple and dark-green flecked greenish-white small vase, carved as a slender cabbage, flanked by two peony branches issuing from and forming part of the base, a grasshopper alighting on one of the curled cabbage leaves just below the rim; the second a pale greenish- white lotus-form brushwasher, delicately carved as a veined lotus leaf supported on a curled stalk from which issue further buds and millet, with two small snails perched on the splayed leaves
