Rare description of the Swedish settlements in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It "may justly be called the most complete ecclesiastical history of Nove Suecia down to that time. The author was Bishop of the Swedish Congregations in America [and father of Emanuel Swedenborg], and received in this function all the reports, etc., of the various ministers; the greater part of the book is filled by these authentic documents and letters, which abound with most valuable details"--Muller, Catalogue of books and pamphlets...relating to North and South America (1877) 1140.
